Asian here. You can still use the soft tofu. Once you've coated them with starch, place them flat on your pan and let them be. Avoid the temptation to stir! Turn each dice once, but only when that side of the diced tofu is golden brown, until all the sides are cooked.
Thank you so much for sharing those 5 recipes, I wrote them in my book and will try them for sure. I am looking forward to seeing more recipes Marie :-)) As you guys are genius for editing, I would like to see the whole recipes written on the screen so I can do a screenshot 🤩 I don’t know about other people but I would love to see recipes once a month on your channel, is there other people that feels like me ??? Hi guys, great video!! Just a clarification, the "Pesto Pasta" here in italy is "Pasta al Pesto" and we do it with Pine nuts, is an super important ingredient for this plate.😉
You made me laugh! My hubby is French Canadian and we ALWAYS say “rape the cheese “ 😂 😂. (It’s the standard joke) Nice to know we aren’t the only ones.
First as a Greek let me say I love that you use olive oil (here we just say oil,we know is olve oil) Haloumi is a great cheese from Cyprus and sometimes i put some oil in the pan spread lots of sesame seeds on the haloumi and fry till the seeds are golden. Put it on a plate and a tablespoon or two of honey on top The salty and sweet taste with the seeds in between tastes great PS Of course when we say cheese you understand its feta.... LOL and second PS we dont say Greek yogurt of course, just yogurt double LOL
Yummy! All these recipes look amazing!! I am the lover of cilantro so I loveee all these cilantro garnishes!! The best way to coat anything in corn starch or flour is putting them in a ziplock bag or any container with about 1 table spoon of flour and shaking it!! Then it applies a thin coat of starch to your tofu!
Without eating meat, hemp seeds and Chia seeds goes a loooong way for nutrition 😊 just sprinkle them in your dishes and you don't notice them even there.
I'd definitely start with a small sprinkle. Maybe combine them in a little jar and shake them on whatever you are cooking. I try to add to soups while cooking or even a salad. The nutrition in seeds are amazing and very important, especially if you are thinking of long term... Meatlessness 😊 I sometimes chop up pumpkin seeds too in my jar mixture for all the essential nutrients. Full of proteins too. I have been meat free for 5 yrs and noticed I benefited from getting different sources of protein building blocks.

Seriously awesome meals! Thank you for these! They sure don't have to be cooked in a van! They are great recipes for anyone, anywhere! For variations, you could add shrimp to any of these dishes & any rice instead of white.
Vanlife Sagas going good so far. One month in and lost 15 pounds. Feeling great. I think it would be very easy in a van. My favourite meal is fried cabbage with taco beef.
By far the funniest show so far and the most mouth watering. I am definitely going to try the Veggie Fajitas, Gen Taofu, and the Masala dish. I do a variation on your pesto dish.
When we go camping, I (pre-)prepare the rice in de morning. This way we only have to come up with a veggie-stir-mix thing to mix into the rice at the end of the day. I boil the amond of water I need for the rice. I add the rice when the water is boiling. Bring back to the boil. Now turn off the heat. Carefully pack your pan into towels and place the rapped pan in bed.. Cover carefullywith the bedding. At the end of the day the rice is ready to be eaten. This way of cooking is wery helpfull when you have a lot (we have 3) of hungry kids at the end of the day. Love your tips and adventures.
Marie looks like a great cook. Also, i love the way you say your name ! Not sure if you eat Tuna but my lazy 1 pot meal is Mac and cheese with a can of drained tuna... you can add stuff to the top if you want like parmesean cheese or anything that floats your boat 😄 you could also add that fake meat to it instead and make it like cheeseburger mac.

Veggie Fajitas, Gen Taofu, and the Masala dish.
I do a variation on your pesto dish. Its a 3P dish: Pasta Pesto Primavera. I throw veggies (broccoli, cauliflower) into the water with the pasta and instead of feta I add black olives.
One of my fave dish that would be easy to make in a van:
Tofu Coconut Curry w/ Veggies
INGREDIENTS
Cooked brown rice to your taste.
2 tablespoons of coconut oil or olive oil
2 small white onion, chopped (about 2 cup)
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
4 cloves of chopped garlic
1 chopped red bell pepper
1 chopped yellow, orange or green bell pepper
4 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 wedge of cauliflower chopped
1 small brick (approx 6-8oz) of FIRM tofu, patted dry and cut into small cubes
4 tablespoons Thai Kitchen (brand) red curry paste
2 cans (14 oz each) regular coconut milk
1 cup water
3 cups of chopped kale
3 teaspoons of coconut sugar or brown sugar
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
4 teaspoons of rice vinegar or fresh lime juice
Add either 1 tsp of Garam Masala or instead you can make your own Garam Masala by mixing the folllowing spices to your preference: chili, coriander, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamon, black pepper and All Spice
Garnish (optional): fresh basil or cilantro
INSTRUCTIONS
Keep the brown cooked brown rice warm but set it aside until you’re ready to serve the coconut curry over it.
Begin by heating the oil in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until the onion is translucent. Add ginger and garlic and stir until fragrant (under 1min).
Add the bell peppers and carrots and cook, stirring occasionally, until the bell peppers are a bit soft. Then add the curry paste and cook, stirring often, for 1 min. Add the cubes of firm tofu and continue to stir for 2 min.
Add the coconut milk, water, and brown sugar as you continue to stir. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and add the kale. Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally until all the veggies have softened (about 10 mins). Turn off the heat and add lime juice OR rice vinegar. Season with salt and or pepper, to taste. Serve over rice & garnish.

Excellent. Good and quick for family dinners. X
Yup, each dish took us like 20-25 minutes!
Great video! Love your channel and your energy. I’ll definitely be trying those recipes 💕
Please send pictures!
you guys are adorable lol, fellow van lifer in canmore alberta. thanks for your vids :)
Our pleasure!
Oh that's clever! Thanks for sharing that Ursula. I'll be asking for more cooking tips when baby arrives! I promise 🧡
All of these look delicious! I will definitely try them! Thank you! You guys are so cute!❤️
Please sent pictures of your dishes!
Awesome recipes for van life. Missing the French lesson this time!
We are working on it as we speak!
great ideas! i always struggle with feeding my vegetarian son but I'm going to incorporate all of these!!thanks
Love the new intro, love the recipes, love you both xo P.S. miss the French lesson
Thanks! We were wondering how to do a proper intro. I think it does the trick!
Have to pass on the General poop - but everything else looks delicious, quick & easy :) Entertaining chefs too :)
Hahaha can't blame you !! Thanks Diana! Let us know if you're cooking anything.
Nom Nom Nom Nom. Sounds amazing from here. How do we say our name? You mean the accents?
@@vanlifesagas yes ,the pretty way of saying Marie. Not the jacked up American version 🤣
I think Dom's comments give the perfect name for your final dish - it's the Haloumi Paradise Party 🙂
Hahahaha shit. Should have named it that 😂
Halloumi Mouth Party sounds fun too. I am going to try this one soon!!
I think you have a keeper Dom ❤ Great lil cook 🥘
She's the best. Keeper for sure!
Sacre bleu! Where is ze French lesson!? 🧐🥖🥐 Great video as always guys. We'll definitely check out some of those recipes, they looked banging! 🤤🙌
Hahahahah, did you just use "Sacre Bleu".We haven't heard this since the pirate ages. Epic expression.
I missed "Ze French Lesson" 😭😭😭
Me too
Same here!
Can't believe we skipped it! Promise to make it fun this Sunday :)
I assumed it was the cheese comment. Grated cheese
Just tried the Veggie Chili and it was awesome! Thanks for sharing! I have been looking to eat less meat. Thanks for sharing fellow Gatinois!
Next time, send us pictures! We would like to see how it turns out!
@@vanlifesagas Sure will! I actually posted it on my Story! Merci encore une fois!
the vibes are immaculate
Thanks friend! Hope you can catch vibes from where you are! 😎
Bonjour !
Vanlife Sagas Merci 😊
Oh yummy, want to try all those dishes! It's grated cheese, not rape cheese 🤣. I love you two so much. Oh and where was zee French lesson? Thought it would be something culinary!
We forgot about the french lesson. We'll do two next week. Thanks for the English tip. Not an easy one for us!
Enjoy watching you too very much and I love this new ‘segment’. Please do more cooking shows. 😊 I also just watched your video on 10 van hacks. Could you do a cooking segment with your Omnia oven? I’ve heard mixed reviews and it seems you know how to use it correctly. 😁
